The plans for this year’s St. Patricks Day Festival are well underway.

Official organisers of the festival have begun planning the event which is due to take place on Sunday, March 17th, 2013.

There will be fun, craic agus ceol to be had by all so make sure you save the date in your diary now.

The official launch of the festival will take place in February, with details to be announced soon.

This year’s event promises to be bigger and better then ever and all things green and Irish will be celebrated.

St. Patricks Day is always a great day and the parade always brings the local community together and is entertaining for both participants and spectators.

The parade will also remind us what a great place Dundalk is to live, work, visit and invest in.

The parade, which will commence at 1pm, will begin at Patrick Street before turning right onto Clanbrassil Street in the traditional manner.

There will be family entertainment taking place afterward with something for both adults and children to enjoy.

This years parade is also hoping to welcome a wider range of cultures and community groups who are encouraged to come forward with any ideas they may have for the parade and the day itself.

The green feeling is taking over this year with a little bit of the leprechauns luck being spread to all around our magical town.

Entry forms are now available for all those eager to take part and anyone who feels they can bring a bit of extra sparkle to the St. Patricks Day parade this year.

Make your entry something special and try to stand out from the rest of the crowd.

The deadline for applications is Friday 8th March 2013.

The parade will definitely take place no matter the weather conditions, be it rain hail or shine!

The parade is open to non-commercial entries only as the emphasis is on community and culture.

Please note applications are welcome from all interested parties.

However, the Parade Organisers reserves the right to reject any entry at any time should it be determined to detract from the basic purpose of the St. Patrick’s Festival and the pleasure of the parade audience.

If you or your company feel that you have something to offer this year’s event, then why not join the committee.

You can contact the committee at 042 9336343.
