Music star is charged with dangerous driving on the M1 at Gibstown
Duke Special appeared at Dundalk District Court.
Popstar Duke Special appeared before Dundalk district court last week accused of dangerous driving.
The 41 year old with an address at Lomand Avenue, Belfast appeared under his real name Peter Wilson.
He is charged with committing the alleged offence on the M1 at Gibstown, Dundalk on the 22nd of August last.
At the request of the Defence, Judge Flann Brennan adjourned the case until the 12th of December and directed that a summary of the evidence be supplied.
Solicitor Eleanor Kelly applied to the court for legal aid saying her client is a self employed musician with three children.
She said the loss of his driving licence would be detrimental to the defendant’s career and his ability to travel.
Judge Flann Brennan refused the application saying he doesn’t grant legal aid for road traffic offences.
He remanded the singer song writer on continuing bail.
