Man charged with handling stolen car parts
A 24 year old man accused of handling stolen car parts appeared before Drogheda district court last week. As part of his bail conditions, Stefan Sharkey with an address at Mullacrew, Louth was ordered to surrender his passport and supply a phone number to gardai on which he is to be contactable at all times.
He appeared in court last Friday accused of three alleged offences of handling stolen property. One relates to component parts of a northern registered Ford Galaxy at Newtown, Monasterboice on the 27th of October last. A second charge relates to the front seats and front doors of a stolen northern registered Audi A4, which are allegedly worth over €9,800. The third relates to the dashboard and instrument panel and airbags of a 2010 Louth registered Audi A4, that are allegedly worth over €5,300.
Both of those two charges relate to an address at Hill View, Dundalk on the 18th of September last. After he was told Gardai were not objecting to bail, Judge Flann Brennan remanded the defendant on 500 euro bail to appear in court again on the fifth of April. Under the terms of his bail, the accused must observe a curfew from 8pm to 8am, surrender his passport and sign-on three times a week at Dundalk Garda Station. He must also reside at his home address in Mullacrew and supply a phone number to gardai, on which he is contactable at all times.
