Mammoth ski slope set for Dundalk
Dundalk is set to be the home of a new e70m Euro resort which will house a mammoth ski slope facility, an indoor arena, a water park and a casino.
The extraordinary development, which will be built on a site adjacent to Dundalk Stadium, will create 500 jobs initially for Dundalk with another 1000 to follow if phase two and three get the green light.
Innovative Leisure Systems Ltd (ILS Ltd) of Dundalk and Briton Engineering Developments Ltd of Scholes, West Yorkshire are applying to Dundalk Town Council for planning in July and if granted, Dundalk will have a ski slope which will equal the Crowne Plaza in height.
Nicknamed 'Altitude', the development will cover 140 acres of land and will include a 13,500m2 Snowflex ski slope facility, indoor events arenas, an indoor and outdoor adventure park with climbing, caving, rope courses, children's play areas, white water rafting and a canoe slalom course.
The project will also include a major family entertainment centre offering the latest attractions, and Ireland's first interactive golf driving range.
