Local housing estate comes out on top in Cluid awards

Dundalk

Clontygora Court in Dundalk has won Best Estate in Clúid’s ‘Great Places to Live Competition’.

Clúid residents from communities all around Leinster were brought together to celebrate a special ceremony for their continual effort and enthusiasm to improve their neighbourhoods.

Clúid’s “Great Places to Live Competition” encourages and promotes tenant participation within communities, for resident’s enjoyment and benefit.

Clúid’s Regional Director in Leinster, Ms. Kath Cottier said:

“There was a lot of stiff competition for the top awards but what made these winners really stand out was their positive attitudes, enthusiasm, hard work and effort to make their community a great place to live.

Clontygora Court residents never get bogged down in who doesn’t participate but celebrate who does.

There were lovely stories about how neighbours were helping other neighbours with their gardening and also taking ownership of common areas and making improvements.

We think it is important to celebrate the achievements of residents that really make the effort.

I am sure that the story of these winners will inspire other tenants around the country to get more involved in their local community.

We hope that more estates will put themselves up for next year’s awards!”.

Clúid Housing Association is an innovative, independent, not-for-profit organisation that develops and provides high-quality, affordable, rented social housing for people who do not have the resources to buy their own home or pay for private rented housing.
