Local hairdresser Thomas Hynes is thrilled with his success at the Wella Professionals Trend Vision Award Regional Heats.

Thomas, who is from Riverstown, scooped a Regional Color Category award.

Thomas will now go on to compete at the prestigious Wella Professionals Trend Vision Award UK & Ireland Final, taking place on Monday 8th October at legendary cultural venue, The Roundhouse in London’s Camden.

Thomas has worked as a hair stylist in Eclips Hair Salon in the Longwalk Shopping Centre for over seven years.

He is part of their senior stylist team and specialises in colouring, cutting and blow-drying.

The Trend Vision Awards are one of the hairdressing industry’s most prestigious competitions.

From over 500 competitors at the initial photographic stage, 144 entrants were selected to present at the Regional Heats and now only 16 finalists will go on to fight for the chance to represent Ireland at the International Final in Madrid later in the year.

Each year, entrants are required to interpret one of four trends defined by Wella Professionals – this year being Grace, Blaze, Roxy and Celeste - in either the Young Talent or Color category.

The entries were judged by some of the most highly regarded industry experts including Leona Curran from Sassoon Academy, Natalie O’Connell Bellissimo in Galway and John Geaney.
