Librarian pens kids book

editorial image

DkiT librarian John King has written a children’s book called ‘Tony the Dragon’ and has been over whelmed with the amount of support he has received.

“I’ve been amazed by the great response from people”, said John who is from Blackrock, “I originally started to write the book for my six year old daughter Mia who lives in the Czech Republic and it just developed from there.”

John published the book himself with the help of funding website, Fundit.ie and the whole book is produced entirely by people from Louth.

The amazing illustrations were done by Blackrock architect Padhraic Moneley while Jason Morgan from Ard Easmuinn did the graphic design. It was also edited by Claire Kenny and printed by Anglo Print in Drogheda.

The book costs 10 euros and is available from Carrolls in the Longwalk, Carrolls on Park Street, 23 Seats and Conor Hughes in Blackrock.

John will be in the Dundalk library on March 7th and 8th for World Book Week and will be telling the tale of ‘Tony the Dragon’ to some of the classes from Knockbridge NS and St Joseph’s School.
