Knockbridge Vintage Day this Sunday, October 7, promises to be lots of fun

THE sixth annual Knockbridge Vintage Day and Working Rally promises to be the biggest day yet when it takes place this Sunday 7 October at Knockbridge at 1pm with ample parking available close by.

The show was originally scheduled to take place on 9 September but had to be rescheduled due to the poor weather conidition beforehand.

There will be an extensive display of vintage tractors, cars and bicycles in the field as well as vintage threshing and a working area. Numerous demonstrations will take place such as cookery, flower arranging, art and crafts and much much more.

Sheep racing will be one of the many attractions following its tremendous success over the past few years. There will also be a Vintage Army Display and a Dog Show which always attracts a large number of entrants.

The Knockbridge Vintage Club are very excited about hosting their first talent show on the day – Knockbridge’s Got Talent. There will be three judges on the day who face the hard task of choosing the champion for the coveted title of the Knockbridge’s Got Talent Champion 2012 and the brilliant cash prize of €250. There will be many other brilliant prizes up for grabs including the “People’s Choice Award” where spectators will have a chance to vote for their favourite act on the day.

Everyone is invited to come dressed to the Vintage Day in their best vintage clothing as there will be prize giveaways for best dressed!

Children will be catered for in the fun corner with amusements including bouncing castles, slides, sing-along hop-on hop-off, face painting, nail art, puppet show, an animal farm and many more novelty events.

The food marquee will be serving delicious freshly cooked food and home baking and here you can rest, congregate or chat as you watch the activities over a cup of tea.
