Keith Barry reveals exclusively in an interview with the Dundalk Democrat how he’s in the middle of writing a book, his time on set a Hollywood blockbuster movie and how he doesn’t tell his wife about his death defying acts.

The Waterford native is bringing his mind-boggling hit show “8 Deadly Sins” to town this Friday at the Fairways Hotel, Dundalk, and The Dundalk Democrat had the pleasure of chatting to the 35-year-old.

In recent times Keith has been critical of psychics, a sketch which is included in his show. “I am using the techniques that psychics use, only I’m doing it more accurately than them,” said Keith. “I’m openly using techniques that they are using, cold reading, stock reading and others. I just find it hilarious when I get it bang on.”

Meanwhile, the world-famous entertainer reveals his workload in preparing for shows.

“Sometimes I work twenty-one hour days for five weeks when I’m doing shows, sometimes people don’t believe that, but that’s the truth. You have to do it, otherwise you end up not doing a show or putting together a really bad show.”

Surely his his wife has something to say about Keith getting cling-film tied around his face in a section of his show?

“She’s great with it all, she understands. I don’t tell her what I’m doing half of the time now, that’s the best way,” admits Keith, “you don’t get into any arguments that way, so I just don’t tell her what I’m doing. She does go to the shows and she’ll have a good laugh.”

In January of next year, Keith stars in Hollywood blockbuster “Now You See Me”. Recalling his time on set he says, “It was a brilliant experience. I’ll be going to the premiere. I was mainly working with Woody Harrelson over six months, teaching him how to act as a magician and hypnotist.”

But what techniques is Keith using to play with people’s minds in his shows?

“The truth is I’m using very unorthodox techniques that work and I’m not telling people what they are, I’ve worked long enough to develop these. I’m writing a book at the moment and some of the techniques that I use will be in the book,” revealed Keith.

Having attended “8 Deadly Sins” during its run in Dublin, I can confirm that the people of Dundalk are in for a treat this Friday. Expect to be left questioning, quizzing and laughing and ultimately entertained as Keith implants ideas into your mind and reveals your innermost secrets!!!
