Kathleen launches Breath of December

Dundalk poet Kathleen Maddy will launch her new colection Breath of December at the Green Church in Dundalk this Friday 30 November.

Kathleen’s new book Breath of December, is a poetic reflection of the story of The Nativity.

The poems are written as witness accounts by the main characters in the Nativity story.

Mary, Joseph, Herod, the shepherds, and the wise men, all tell their story as it really happened.

The inn, the stable, the manger, the straw, and the oxen also tell what it was like for them to be part of the greatest story that ever unfolded.

The poems are a beautiful Christmas narrative, and this beautiful collection is published by Universal Publishing Group.

Breath of December is Kathleen’s third published collection and follows on from her last book, With Dawn I Arise, the story of The Passion.

It was launched during Holy Week and was a collection of 33 reflections on the life of Jesus of Nazareth, focusing on the Crucifixion and the Resurrection.

Her first collection was Gold Rays.

Kathleen will be joined on the night by singers Stewart Agnew and Lorraine Quigley, the choir of Kilcurry National School, and other guests. It will be a great evening of music, song, poetry and story telling.

Admission is free, and everyone is welcome.

So come along and enjoy a wonderful evening.
