As a new college term begins, two lucky students from Co. Louth have received word that their academic studies will be funded by scholarships from The Naughton Foundation.

The Gold Medal goes to Jonathan Lynn, St. Mary’s Secondary School, Dundalk. Jonathan has accepted a place at Trinity College Dublin to begin his studies in Engineering. The Silver Medal has been awarded to Conor McMenamin, St. Mary’s Secondary School, Dundalk. Conor will go on to study Computational Thinking at National University of Ireland, Maynooth.

The first place award in each county is a scholarship worth €16,000 and the second place award is €8000. The school of each winning student will receive a prize of €1,000 towards the school’s science laboratory to encourage interest, research and further academic pursuit. This bursary for schools has proven very beneficial in the county.
