Emirates group stay in local centre

In December Carlingford Adventure Centre Language School welcomed a group from the Edgewater Middle East Training Centre based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The group, which included 28 teenagers, stayed in Carlingford Adventure Centre for 2 weeks and took part in Engineering and English Language lessons. Carlingford Adventure Centre Language School in provided an intensive 2 week programme incorporating 15 hours of English Language lessons where the students had to complete a presentation on Local Tourism and Heritage. They also completed Engineering workshops with hands on experience with actual lawnmower engines in specifically designed workshops in the centre.

In addition to the programme the group also experienced many of the outdoor activities at Carlingford Adventure Centre. Laser Combat and the High Ropes Course were among the favourites.

During their time in Carlingford the group also enjoyed some of the local experiences - a guided walk of Carlingford village, a trip to the Oyster Farm and a visit to DKIT and Dundalk Museum. The Ice Skating on Dundalk Square was a big hit with the students.

They also had the chance to visit the Islamic Cultural Centre in Dublin and also Funderland in Dublin. The visit ended with a presentation night in the Four Seasons Hotel, Carlingford were each student was awarded a certificate for the completion of the course.

We are looking forward to welcoming another group in April of this year.”
