Dundalk Writers launching Nest at DKIT An antology of poems fiction and memoir by Members of Dundalk Writers

AN anthology of short stories and poems from writers from in and around Dundalk was launched at DkIT this week.

NEST features the work of the Dundalk Writers Group who meet once a fortnight in DkIT in the Annaverna Room.

Over 100 guests were present at the launch, where some of the 16 contributors to the work read from the book, which is available from Carrolls on Park Street, Devanneys on Crowe Street and soon in the Patrick Kavannagh Centre in Inniskeen.

Co-ordinator of the group John Noonan says that “There’s something for everyone in the book”.

“There are some shorter stories, some longer stories and some humourous verse. This is the first collection from our group, having spent three years meeting and sharing ideas about creative writing.

“We are always looking for new members. No one owns this group and all are welcome.”

On the night the son Tomas MacAnna, Ferdia MacAnna was present, while there was also high praise from well known playwright Martin Dyar who said “This book presents a collection of spirited and authentic work from a writing community that has distinguished itself nationally.”

The group has broken up for Christmas but will be back in January for more fortnightly meetings.

The books is available and the stated retail outlets at e10. If you are interested in getting involved you can contact 087 2538583.
