Dundalk's most popular group, The Corrs could be set to make a comeback with a new album planned for 2011
DUNDALK'S most successful ever musical export, The Corrs, could be set to reunite in the New Year for a brand new album.
The quartet – family members Andrea, Caroline, Sharon and Jim – have been on hiatus since 2006 as they concentrated on their personal lives and setting up families of their own.
During that time, Andrea and Sharon have brought out solo albums while Jim has become active in the political realm, even lending his support to the campaign to keep services open at the Louth County Hospital.
A possible comeback has been mentioned for some time but the clearest indication of that yet was given by Andrea on the Late Late Show on Friday when she said they may be getting together in the New Year to work on a new project.
That was confirmed to The Dundalk Democrat on Monday by eldest member of the family, Jim, who said: "We're considering doing an album in the New Year."
Jim said the band had nothing written yet but admitted that he would welcome a return to the music scene.
