Council to launch next stage of Cox’s scheme
Aisling Park one of the areas that will benefit from the Regerearation scheme in Coxes
DUNDALK Town Council is ready to launch the second phase of the Cox’s Demesne regeneration scheme.
The second phase will cover pilot scheme works at the Aisling Park area of Cox’s Demesne.
The town council has engaged the services of Fingal County Council archtects to work on the scheme.
The Aisling Park scheme will include a community facility and houses designed for elderly residents.
The council has 8.5 million euro to spend on the scheme over 3 to 4 years.
Cllr Marianne Butler said some of the design elements and technology at New Haven could be used in the Aisling Park pilot scheme.
Cllr Harry Todd said the energy efficiency project, which was the first part of the regeneration project, was hugely successful.
Cllr Mark Dearey agreed and also acknowledged the support given by the town council to the Turas Counselling Service which was carrying out great work in the area.
Cllr Kevin Meenan said the scheme was proving a major success and hopefully it would be extended to Muirhevnamore.
Energy improvement works have already been carried out at no charge to the local residents because of a joint initiative by Dundalk Town Council, Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland and the ESB.
