HAVING worked together on Riverdance Blackrock professionals Carol Leavy Joyce and Patrick Dunne are working together again to help bring another wonderful production to the stage, The Pirate Queen which will take place in An Tain Theatre, Town Hall Dundalk from Wednesday 20th to Saturday 23rd March, nightly at 8pm.
Long-time member Patrick Dunne is the Musical Director for the show and he is joined fby choreographer Carol who was the Original Broadway Irish Dance Choreographer of The Pirate Queen.
“SONG are thrilled to be given the opportunity to perform this fantastic musical. We have been working on the show since last August and have gathered a very talented cast of over 60 performers, from Singers, Actors and Dancers. We have no doubt that our audiences are going to enjoy this musical.

Both part of the award winning musical team of SONG the pair were involved in the official launch of the production of The Pirate Queen recently in Dundalk Museum. Guests included Mr Richard Lavery, National President of AIMS (Association of Irish Musical Societies), Ms Jennifer Green, Chairperson of Dundalk Town Council, Numerous Councillors, Sponsors, Advertisers and Patrons of SONG.
In fact there is a strong involvement from Haggardstown and Blackrock with many other familiar faces due to appear on stage such as John and Lynsey O’Neill, Ronan O’Shea, Cormac Todd, Daire and Katie Stanley, Andrew and Jacqui Browne, Irene and Kathryn Dunne, Margaret Leavy, Caroline Montgomery, Laoise Grennan and Aine Quinn. Mary McCague will also play the fiddle for the show.
At the launch night the 60 Strong Cast performed a selection of numbers from the show for nearly 100 guests. Terese Dunne introduced the production team for the show which also includes co-director Rosemary Winkless and Chorus Mistress Liz McConnon and thanked all of SONG’s Sponsors, Advertisers and Patrons who have been so supportive over the years. The show will also feature young Irish Dancers from the Carol Leavy Joyce School of Irish Dancing .
