Broke into community centre

A 20 year-old man who admitted a number of break-ins at a community centre and also breaking into the room of a housemate over a four month period, had his case put back at Dundalk District Court on Wednesday.

Darren Clarke with an address at Stonetown Upper, Corcreaghy and stated to be living at Hill Street Dundalk was charged on three different dates with entering Killanny Community Centre in December 2010 and the other offence the following April. He was stated to have stayed out of trouble since.

Judge William Hamill adjourned the charges to May 1st to obtain a report on the defendant.

It was said on his behalf that the break-ins at the Community Centre were opportunistic. He had climbed up a ladder and entered the premises through a window and walked around. Nothing was taken.

On April 6th the following year he broke into the room of a housemate who was on holidays at Mulholland Avenue in town and took a dart board. It was found in a search of another property, Garda Inspector John Foudy said.
