Blackrock Girl Guides make Christmas Toy Appeal for local kids

Blackrock Girl Guides in association with St. Vincent de Paul would once again like to help those kids in need in their area –Blackrock, Haggardstown and surrounding areas.

The local Girl Guides are getting the ball rolling by donating their pocket money or giving up one of their presents to buy a toy for a Boy or a Girl in need this Christmas and they would love you to help.

After such a huge response to The Girl Guide Christmas Toy Appeal over the last two years, in conjunction with SVP, they were able to help over 60 families in desperate need in our local area. The girls are once again asking for your help this year to give to even more families and children in need. The appeal was officially launched with a collection point at the Tree Lighting ceremony last weekend but you can still donate your gift at both Centra and Vivo Stores Blackrock and Greengates from 01st Dec – 16th Dec.

They are asking for NEW TOYS for children of all ages, not forgetting the teenagers, (cinema tickets, HMV/Pennys/Book Vouchers/Phone top-up) up to the value of €10.

There will also be a raffle at the Ladybirds, Brownies & Girl Guides Christmas Show, Sunday 16th Dec, Blackrock Community Centre, and all proceeds will go to the Toy Appeal.

Help them to make their Third Year an even bigger success and get all our children smiling this Christmas!!!
