The Organising committee of the First Ardee Bata Business awards at the awards night in Darver Castle

ARDEE Traders were joined by many others in the local community for the Baile Atha Fheirdia Traders Association awards (BAFTA awards) at Darver Castle last Saturday.

The evening was a tremendous success with 280 in attendance.

John Caffery, chairman of Ardee Traders got the evening off to a great start with his welcoming address.

MC for the evening was Hughie O’Neill, vice chairman of the traders, who was assisted in presenting the awards by Kathleen Kelly of Look Alive hairdressers.

It was a night of fun, food, music and awards, a great nights entertainment.

There was a drinks reception followed by a four-course meal, awards and brilliant music.

This was a superb night and was fully booked out well in advance.

The finalists were: Most helpful – Friendliest Business Person:

Colm Taffee, Declan Curran, Sarah Curran, Michelle Murtagh, Olive Hickey.

Shop That Never Opens on Time: Moods, Stepping Stones, The Station.

Hardest Working Trader: John O’Brien, Brendan Faulkner, Sarajit Chanda, John Kierans, John Caffery.

Longest “Back in five minutes Proprietor: O’Neill’s Menswear, Celtic Beauty, Key and Heel. Just In.

Best Dressed Business Person: Pat Callan, Richard McDonnell, Kathleen Kelly, Colin Gallagher, Pauline Sharkey.

Best Premises: McGeoy’s Pharmacy Kearney’s, Sean Kerr Building Providers, Carrick Road Service Station, Landy’s.

The winners were:

Most helpful/friendliest business person: Michelle Murtagh.

Longest “Back in five minutes” proprietor: Just In boutique.

Best Dressed Business Person: Pauline Sharkey.

Hardest working Trader: Brendan Faulkner of Railway Bar.

Best Kept Premises: McGoey’s Pharmacy.

Shop That Never Opens on Time: The Station.
