Make a great start to Paddys day and take part in the annual Pat Gogarty run/walk in Jenkinstown forest trail.

The run, which is in its fifth year, will raise funds for cancer care and research as well as local chairities including SOSAD.

Registration for the run will take place at Bellurgan soccer grounds from 8.30am and the race will begin at 9.30, so people can still get to the Paddys Day parades and partake in festivities throughout the day.

Walkers and joggers will be able to start the start anytime before 9.30am.

There will be buses to and from trail and runners/walkers are asked to take bananas and plenty of water.

Refreshments will be served afterwards and are sponsored by Fyffes, Hanlon Transport and Las Lap café, who have sponsored the event for the last three years and race organisers are delighted to have them on board again.

A strong field of runners will be partaking in the race including last years winner Brian McCluskey, Gary OHanlon, David Carrie and Mark Hoey.

Contact Noel 087 2220877 or Mark 087 4185820 for further details.
