Woman to appear in court after fatal crash at Carrick

A 25-year-old woman is expected to appear before Carrickmacross District Court this morning (Wednesday 7 May) charged in relation to a fatal crash at Annamarron, Monaghan on Monday.

Gardaí at Carrickmacross are investigating the crash which involved two cars on the main Dublin-Derry road at Annamarron at 6.30pm on Monday.

A three-year-old child was killed when the car he was travelling in collided with another.

The 36-year-old woman driver of this car was critically injured and taken by air ambulance to Tallaght hospital.

The driver and a passenger in the other car were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them at Carrickmacross Garda Station on 042-9690190, the Garda Confidential Line 1-800-666-111 or any garda station.

They are particularly anxious to speak to the driver of a lorry who stopped at the scene.
