Sisters Elizabeth and Catherine Marcus who train with Dundalk Karate, were triumphant yet again as they were selected to be part of a larger Team from the Ballybay Karate Club, where they travelled to Artane in Dublin for the Annual St Joseph’s Karate Club Competition. Both Elizabeth and Catherine were put under huge pressure as they came up against stiff competition in both Kata (form) and Kumite (fighting). Elizabeth managed to come joint 4th in her Kumite Section while her sister Catherine managed to beat of a number of opponents during Kumite and come away with a Silver Medal. Sensei Neil O’Sullivan who selected the sisters said “Both Elizabeth and Catherine have enormous potential and it was great to have them as part of the Team from the Ballybay Karate Club”. Sensei Neil went on to say “Everyone who travelled to the competition came together and benefited from a fantastic Team Spirit”. Head of Dundalk Karate Sensei Mary Marcus said “It was a huge opportunity for both Elizabeth and Catherine to be part of this Team and they are now looking forward to next weekend where they will travel to Moynalty along with fellow members of Dundalk Karate where the Moynalty Karate Club will be holding a Kata Competition”.
Good Luck to everyone from Dundalk Karate who are attending the Moynalty Karate Club Kata Competition next weekend.
