Rehearsal workshops

The Castle Players will be holding rehearsal workshops in The Clans Hall at 8pm next Tuesday, 13 May with a view to producing Paul Vincent Carroll’s play ‘The Devil Came from Dublin’.

Carroll , who was born in 1900 on the old Golf links road in Blackrock, was one of Dundalk’s most successful exports. He began his career as a playwright, in 1932 winning The Abbey Prize for Things That Are Caesar’s, and later the prestigious New York Drama Critics Award in 1938 for Shadow and Substance and again in ’39 for The White Steed. Anyone interested in taking part in bringing this local work to the stage is welcome to attend. No previous experience is necessary but you must be aged 16 or over.
