Sad news has just reached the Dundalk Democrat that long-standing ladies boutique Pulse Pacemaker on Park Street are set to close their doors.

The store has been one of Dundalk’s best known fashion retailers for 38 years and the business was set up by Kate English in 1975.

The ladies boutique first opened it’s doors in the Old Shopping Centre and later opened another store in the Longwalk Shopping Centre in the 1990’s.

Business woman Kate had continually grown the store into a shopping haven for the discerning women of the north east along with her daughter Suzi.

The retail outlet stocked brands such as Save the Queen, Legatte, Oky Coky, Fee G, Mariella Rosati, Bandolera, Gerry Weber, Taifun, Olsen, Messcalino, Heymann, Redfoot Shoes, Dyrberg Kern Jewellery to name but a few.

The announcement of the closure is another nail in the coffin of the town centre after Penneys annouced that their store in the Longwalk Shopping Centre would close this March.
