The month of September sees club activities for Dundalk Photographic Society (DPS) resume in a new venue.
DPS would like to extend their thanks to Conradh Na Gaeilge for facilitating them for many years. However, the club has outgrown the venue and has moved upstairs to the second floor of McGeoghs Pub in Roden Place where they can now open their doors to new members, many of whom have been on the waiting list for a number of years.
Following the welcome back night, DPS held their first in-house club photographic competition. Members competing in this section were from the non-advanced category of photographers, and many of the authors would have completed for the first time.
Monochrome print winner was Mark English from Tallanstown with an image titled “Taking 5”, a portrait of his son Ben. and colour print winner was Francis McKeown from Inniskeen with an image titled “Jetty”, a landscape image of a disused reservoir located just off the shores of Carlingford Lough.
DPS are announcing the commencement of Digital Photography Classes on Wednesday, October 2 at 7.30pm. These classes run for 7 weeks, in the new club rooms and are open to anyone aged 18 years and over. For further information on all club activities visit www.dundalkphoto.com.
