North Louth Artists exhibition

The County Museum, Dundalk will host an exhibition entitled “Spirit of Louth” by North Louth Artists in the County Museum, Jocelyn St, Dundalk from 16-24 May from 10am to 5pm daily.

This long established group includes some of Louth’s leading artists and sculptors combining their varied practices and backgrounds towards the exploration of a shared theme.

From super realist to abstract paintings in oils, watercolour and acrylic, bronze, ceramic and glass sculpture, these artists will present their interpretation of the theme ‘Spirit of Louth’.

Artists wgo will display their work include Patricia Murphy, Irene Woods, Gerry Clarke, Rosemary Warren, Siobhan Conyngham, Paula Eigenheer, Derek Bell, Patrick Conyngham,John O’Connor, Eilish O’Mahony along with sculptors Sandra Bell, Alva Gallagher and Frances Lambe. Guest artists will include John Behan, Merlin Ramos and Breda Marron. Admission is free and all are welcome.

There will also be a series of Artists’ Talks in conjunction with the exhibition which will take place at lunchtime. These will be an interesting introduction and insight into the inspiration and approach oof each artist.

On 20 May Patricia Murphy will talk about what inspires and influences her abstract paintings.

Sculptor and ceramic artist Frances Lambe will give an illustrated talk about her work on 21 May and on 22 May John O’Connor will discuss his work for the exhibition. Admission is free. Contact Irene Woods for further details on 042-9376278 or 087-9606757.
