Muire na nGael pupils make visit to Poland

Pupils from Muire na nGael made a visit to Poland as school’s involvement in a EU Comenius project involving four schools, including ones from Poland, Finland and Turkey.

The students have just returned from an international class in Turon, Poland where they joined staff and pupils from their twinning schools.

In early May, three more staff members will visit Turkey and learn about their educational system, Turkish cultures and traditions, undertake sight seeing tours and share project activities and ideas.

It has been a successful few weeks for the school. Bill Howell, 5th class was announced the overall national winner of the Agri Aware Farm Safety poster competition and is looking forward to an all expenses paid trip to Dublin Zoo with his class. Bill’s winning picture was also printed on “willies” for his whole class.

Aine O’Connor, 5th class has just been announced the overall national winner of the Aldi bag art competition and will receive €1,00 for the school, a fabulous trophy and her design will be printed on all Aldi bags in the near future.

A presentation will take place in early May.

They also just received news that we had two winners in the acclaimed Texaco art competition

Terina Kelly winning a merit prize in the 6 years and under category and Abi Dunne winning a merit prize in the 7-8 years category.

The girls will receive their prizes in late May.
