Using the litter bins on the streets of Louth is about to get a bit more exciting! Over the next few weeks, doing the ‘right thing’ and using the litter bins to dispose of your rubbish could end up earning you some real cash! That’s because the crew from ‘iRadio’, will be out and about, carrying out covert surveillance of the bins on the streets of our towns and if you happen to be one of the lucky ones ‘caught’ disposing of your litter in the correct bin, you could win €100 on the spot! A nice little reward for simply ‘doing the right thing’!

This groundbreaking campaign is an initiative of Louth Local Authorities in conjunction with the regional radio group ‘iRadio’. Random bins across the county will be watched by the undercover iRadio team, who will identify lucky bin users and reward them with €100 in cash.

“The ‘Where Have You Bin’ campaign is the first its kind” according to Aisling Sheridan, Environmental Awareness Officer with Louth County Council.

“iRadio is a very popular radio station among young adults all over the country. Louth County Council has been looking for a way to engage with people on the issue of litter for some time now and this campaign with ‘iRadio’ is the perfect way to do this! So beware and be careful because remember the ‘iRadio’ crew could be around.
