Peter Kierans CEO Louth Meath Education and Training Board met with the Staff of SOLAS Training Centre Dundalk this week.

On 1 July Louth Meath Education and Training Board (LMETB) will take over responsibility for the management of SOLAS training delivery in Louth, Meath, Cavan and Monaghan.

This will include the integration of the former FÁS Training Centre in Dundalk which is currently being managed by SOLAS on a temporary basis.

This transfer forms part of the major structural reforms currently taking place in the Further Education and Training (FET) Sector in Ireland.

In advance of the transfer on the 10th April 2014, Peter Kierans (CEO LMETB) met with the SOLAS Staff based in Dundalk to welcome them into the Louth Meath Education and Training Board and to discuss the opportunities to improve FET services for Learners and Jobseekers in the region.

The transfer will have no immediate impact on Learners. Training courses, certification and services to Learners will continue as normal.
