In an effort to strengthen the community organisations and clubs currently based in Knockbridge, the village is carrying out an extensive community skills audit of

all households in the area.

Under the guidance of the Louth Volunteer Centre, the Knockbridge Community Initiative Group have commenced work on this project.

They hope the results will provide a comprehensive picture of the strengths, resources and opportunities in the area and shape their plans for the future.

Surveys are being delivered to houses at present.

People are encouraged to complete the survey by completing the Community Skills Audit Form. No one will be making a commitment to becoming involved in any form of volunteering by doing so.

“The idea is to make people aware of the volunteer opportunities in Knockbridge,” said Grainne McGeeney of the Knockbridge Community Initiative Group.

“We also want to let them know and about all the wonderful clubs and organisations in the area.

In addition, to carrying out the Community Skills audit, Knockbridge Community Initiative are also hoping to set up a text messaging service in Knockbridge to help improve security and communication regarding events taking place in our area.
