Jedward are appealing to their fans to give up their luxuries for just 24 hours.

John and Edward launched this year’s Concern Worldwide Fast and are joining with thousands of people, who are doing the fast. The Concern Fast is on Thursday.

This year participants go without food, treats or even gadgets for 24 hours or live on just €1 for the day in order to raise funds for some of the poorest people in the developing world.

Concern now has a team on the ground in the Philippines.

“We can’t wait to see the enthusiasm from our fans for the Fast this year. It’s a challenging way to raise funds, but at the same time rewarding.

Edward and I will be competing against each other as I will be fasting while he is going to try to live on €1 for the day. Both will be tough but it’s not the only way to take part, participants can even take part by giving up something for 24 hours, such as Facebook, Twitter or even talking,” John said.

And Edward added, “I have tried to see what I can buy for less than one euro but it is not easy! I am looking forward to the challenge though and it will be fun to take part in the Concern Fast even though we will be touring in Australia. We can’t wait to see how our fans chose to take part.
