IDA site visits down 66% in 2013

IDA sponsored visits to Louth have dropped by a staggering 66 per cent in 2013 according to figures revealed in the Dail.

In 2013, there were just four site visits to Louth, down from from 12 in 2012.

These site visits were from new companies visiting the location for the first time and from senior executives of existing companies.

However, it was far worse in neighbouring Monaghan, who had just one IDA sponsored visit to the county in 2013, although this an increase from the zero site visits in 2012.

Meanwhile Limerick had 23 site visits, Cork had 31, Waterford 14, Sligo had 10 and Dublin had 180.

Ireland’s inward investment promotion agency, IDA Ireland (Industrial Development Agency) is responsible for the attraction and development of foreign investment in Ireland.
