In Louth 1,805 students sat the Leaving Certificate exams this year with 171 students sitting the Leaving Cert Applied 171. All will be anxiously awaiting their Leaving Cert results this week.

Meanwhile in Monaghan 806 students sat the Leaving Cert exams and 61sat the Leaving Cert Applied

Ahead of the results, students and parents to avail of a free helpline which will offer advice and support on the CAO process.

“It is important that students know that help is available for them,” Senator Mary Moran said, “

For any query they may have once they receive their Leaving Cert results.

“The phone service will see experienced guidance counsellors ready to handle a huge volume of calls over the next two weeks from students who are wondering about their options. Last year the service dealt with thousands of queries from all over the country.

“The Freephone number is 1800 265 165, and will be open from morning to evening for three days next week and the week after,” explained Senator Moran.
