Daniel Bradshaw (22) of Castleross who admitted driving a stolen car, was convicted and fined €200 at the local district court.
Two other charges in respect of drugs were withdrawn against the defendant.
Garda Inspector Brendan Cadden said that following a report of a car being stolen on January 21 last, Garda on patrol at Ashling Park observed the vehicle. The driver was the defendant. He was co-operative and had no previous convictions.
Solicitor Niall Lavery said the defendant was expecting his first child with his girl friend. The defendant had never come to notice before.
