The Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service has taken possession of a brand new SEAT Leon ST Car. The car was presented to the service on friday last (May 2nd) by Conachy’s Garage, Dunleer.

The 1.6 Turbo Diesel Estate has loads of space and can easily accommodate five people along with a range of rescue gear, first aid equipment etc.

The car will be used to transport members to and from various missing person searches undertaken around the 32 counties. It will also be used locally by the Rescue Cardiac First Responder Team for any emergencies that may arise in the area.

Their partnership with Conachy’s Garage, also means that the new car will be serviced and maintained by the skilled staff at the Dunleer Showrooms.

Barry Conachy said at the launch “We are delighted to supply the The Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service with a new vehicle”.

“We all know the work carried out by this volunteer organisation in the search and recovery of missing people in rivers and lakes throughout the country and Conachy’s Garage are delighted to sponsor the new Leon”.

When news of the car donation came through Sean Cahill said “We were really taken aback with the donation of the SEAT Leon Car from Conachy’s Garage. The car will be put to great use and will be a vital vehicle for the rescue service”.

“I’d like to sincerely Thank Barry, Pierce, and all at Conachy’s for considering the Boyne Fishermen’s Rescue and Recovery Service with such a generous donation”.

SEAT has enjoyed significant growth in 2013 and are now the fastest growing car brand in the country. The new vehicle has been put into service over the weekend.
