Bellurgan says farewell to a very great lady

Pupils, staff and friends of Bellurgan National School gathered in the school hall recently to show their respect and love for a very special person who has touched all of their lives during her time at this school which carries such a strong tradition.

Kitty Ballantine retired at the end of this month after being part of their school community since 1974.

It has been a distinguished career which has spanned just over an amazing forty years.

“This school has always been immaculate under Kitty’s watch and she was an important member of our school staff,” said school principal, Mr McCoy.

He praised Kitty Ballantine for her loyality, reliability and dedication to her work at the school.

“She ensured that their classrooms were kept in pristine condition which helped make their school a good place to be and created a lovely learning environment for their pupils past and present who have passed through the school’s doors.”

On behalf of all the staff, he wished Kitty many years of happiness and good health in her retirement.

There were many, many messages of good will.
