Over 160 people attended a workshop on how to use Facebook and Twitter to promote business at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dundalk last week.
The event was organized by Dundalk Chamber of Commerce and Bank of Ireland.
Billy Mahon of Superior Internet Marketing (SIM) gave an excellent two-hour talk on how to use these tools to the best advantage from a business point of view.
He emphasised the need to communicate in an interesting and effective way with clients and to be consistent in communication.
Technology may be changing the way we sell our business, but the message is the same: it must be interesting and relate to what the customer wants.
Mr Paddy Matthews, President of Dundalk Chamber, stressed the importance of these tools and that businesses need to be up to speed on the use of them in order to get their business noticed.
Mr Billy Kehoe, branch manager, Bank of Ireland, Dundalk said the bank was delighted to be involved in initiatives like this social media workshop that support local SMEs.

“We have a wide range of activities in place that support SMEs such as our bi-annual enterprise weeks and credit clinics, as we look to position ourselves as Ireland’s Enterprise Bank.
