Two men dead after Ardee road collision

Gardai in Inishowen have appealed for information.
Gardai in Ardee are investigating a single vehicle road traffic collision in which two men were killed at Hunterstown, in the early hours of last night.

Gardai in Ardee are investigating a single vehicle road traffic collision in which two men were killed at Hunterstown, in the early hours of last night.

The collision occurred at approximately 1.30am on the N2 ( between Ardee and Collon) 5km when the car both men were travelling in collided with a bridge and a tree.

Both men, who are in their 20’s, were seriously injured in the the collision with one male pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has been removed to the Morgue at Our Lady of Loudes hospital in Drogheda.

The other man was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital where he later died from his wounds.

The road is currently closed to facilitate a forensic collision examination and diversions are in place.

Gardai in Ardee are appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have been on that road between 1am and 1.45am this morning, November 13.
