Louth Rose Ciara Soraghan is heading to Portlaoise for the Rose of Tralee Regional Festival which starts this Thursday, 29 May and ends on Sunday, 1 June.
“It’s been a wonderful few weeks since being selected as the Louth Rose,” said former Marist student Ciara.
“The next stop is Portlaoise for the regional festival and I am really excited to see what’s in store for the weekend.
“I am most looking forward to meeting the other 59 Roses and, of course, Dáithí Ó Sé.”
Rose of Tralee Host Dáithí Ó Sé will interview Ciara and each of the Roses representing 29 counties in Ireland, 13 regions in the United States of America, Scotland and eight major cities in England, Melbourne, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Oman, Canada, Luxembourg and Germany over three nights.
Two judging panels will then select 23 of the Roses to go forward to the International Festival in Tralee this August.
The selection nights will take place at the Portlaoise Heritage Hotel. Ciara and the other Roses will take part in an Irish music evening, a vintage car parade, funfair, street disco and a visit to Castle Durrow.
