The second phase of the regeneration scheme for Cox’s Demesne Dundalk has moved a step closer with the public consultation stage of the Ashling Park scheme now complete.

The second phase of the regeneration scheme for Cox’s Demesne Dundalk has moved a step closer with the public consultation stage of the Ashling Park scheme now complete.

Dundalk Town Council has approved the County Manager’s report of the consultation process.

The scheme will look at improving the existing Dundalk Town Council housing stock, improvements to the physical environment and the provision of new purpose built housing.

Extensive consultation has already taken place with residents and further meetings are planned

Fingal County Council architects have drawn up the plans for the pilot project.

The biggest energy efficient project in the country was completed in the first phase of the Cox’s regenaration scheme.

Two thousand people have benefitted from the €3.3m energy efficient retrofit project after work was carried out on their homes to reduce energy consumption.

Electric Ireland, Dundalk Town Council and the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland have worked together on a range of works including attic and cavity wall insulation, and the installation of two zone heating controls to 573 houses at Cox’s Demesne.
