Seachtain na Gaeilge was celebrated in style at Scoil Mhuire na Trócaire, Ardee last week.
All classes engaged in activities to celebrate all things Irish through music, song, drama, dance and some fun activities.
The week started with a visit from Mo-Mo Productions, who presented a bi-lingual play called ‘An Foraois Scanrúil’ or ‘The Fearsome Forest’ while junior and middle classes sang along to the up-beat music in the play and happily interacted with the cast.
Each day pupils answered ‘Ceist an Lae’ and the cúpla focail could be heard throughout the school each day with pupils rewarded for speaking Irish during the day.
The infant classes enjoyed The Leprechaun Hunt and middle classes played Bingo as gaeilge while the senior classes took part in a fun quiz ‘Tráth na gCeist’.
Third classes contributed to a wonderful display of pupils’ artwork, Irish poetry and writing in the school hall.
The weeks activities cumulated in Ceolchoirm Lá le Pádraig when the whole school came together for a concert on Friday.
Each class performed a song, poem, dance or played music on stage and it was a wonderful opportunity to showcase pupils’ work and talents.
On St. Patrick’s Day the school was once again well represented in the Ardee Parade when pupils dressed up and carried fabulous art-work on the theme of St. Patrick.
Seachtain na Gaeilge was a great success and both teachers and pupils showcased a wonderful celebration of culture and language in Scoil Mhuire na Trócaire.
Bhí na múinteori agus na daltaí i Scoil Mhuire na Trócaire an-ghnóthach an seachtain seo caite ar son seachtain na Gaeilge. Bhain na bun-ranganna an-sult as an dráma “An Foraois Scanrúil.
Bhí an-spórt ag rang a 3 agus a 4 ag súgradh cluiche bingo agus bhí rang a 5 agus a 6 ag obair go dian ar Thráth na gCeist.
Bhí obair na bpáistí le feíceáil i dtaispeántas sa halla agus ar an Aoine bhí lá mór ag na daltaí nuair a thóg said páirt i gceolchoirm; ag canadh, ag damhsa agus ag seinm ceoil.
