THERE was widespread shock in Blackrock and the wider Dundalk area at the sudden death of a popular member of staff at Centra last week.
Veronica Mulholland, a 47-year-old married woman from Castleross, Castletown Road collapsed as she was leaving the Blackrock Centra supermarket on Monday evening, 18th of March.
The paper understands that she sat down on the short wall just on the walkway in front of the shopping before collapsing.
Mrs Mullholland was taken to hospital in Our Lady of Lourdes but was pronounced dead later that evening.
Staff at the supermarket were struggling to come to terms with their colleague’s death last week, a task made all the more difficult by the sudden and shocking nature of her death.
“She just went out after her shift and sat on the wall. She was only 47. It’s been a very hard week.”
Mrs Mulholland (née McNeill) is survived by her husband Tony, her father Jimmy and her sisters Regina, Kieran, Declan and Martin.
She was laid to rest at Magheral Cemetery, Annaclone following a funeral mass at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Kilkerley on Friday.
