The dedication of the Blackrock Tidy Towns committee and the people of the area has paid off.

The village was awarded a gold medal and an award for climate change.

The interpretive panel, detailing the heritage of Blackrock together with the seashore board and a

map gives the visitor a good overview of Blackrock village and its amenities, according to the judges report. The Slí na Sláinte 4K route board is

notable too. The church and its grounds look magnificent. Schools are attractively presented and the Community Hall looks well.

Ardee also did well in category D retaining the bronze medal it won last year.

This is a magnificent achievement by the local committee.

the committee has been urged to submit a plan with next year’s entry.

They have also been encouraged to set up a website and social media for

communication purposes,

The judges said they may like to consider a website to broadcast Tidy Towns activities. They said the town is well endowed with developed walks and trails which provide wonderful amenities for its residents and visitors.
