CreateLouth is the Arts Service of Louth Local Authorities, and each year, young musicians are encouraged to audition before an external adjudicator, with the successful receiving bursaries to assist them in their studies.

The adjudicator for The CreateLouth Young Music Awards 2013 was Gráinne Hope.

The recipients of the Awards for 2013 are: The Macardle Award for Classical Music, Poppy Van Dijk, Blackrock– Cello. Create Louth Young Music Awards: Conal Duffy, Mullagharlin Road – Uilleann Pipes. Fionnuala Donlon, Greenwood Drive – Harp. Rebecca McGee-Watters, St. Clement’s Park Dundalk - Flute.

Niamh Taaffe, Avenue Road Dundalk - Fiddle. Hillary McCahill, Point Road Dundalk - Fiddle.

Schools Musical Instrument Purchase Scheme: Colaiste Rís – Music Teacher - Sinead Quinn.

Cllr Jennifer Green Cathaoirleach, Dundalk Town Council, said she was delighted with the town council’s support for young musicians.
