A senior Sinn Féin official has claimed that he knows who is responsible for the death of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe.
Mark McLernon, who is based in Belfast claims that a notorious republican family were part of the criminal gang behind the killing of the Detective Garda in Lordship last January.
McLernon also made claims that the same gang murdered Paul Quinn in 2007 and Keith Rogers in 2002.
The Sinn Fein official named the family in the Sunday World at the weekend however he provided no evidence to back up his claims.
Gardaí now wish to speak to the Sinn Fein press officer about this information.
