Dundalk Institute of Technology threw open its doors to a bumper crowd for Open Day 2012. Once again the sun shone on DkIT as cars and buses carrying prospective students arrived on campus to get a taste of student life and find out about the various courses on offer. People arrived from far and wide with potential students travelling from throughout Louth, Meath, Cavan, Monaghan and Dublin as well as a number of students traveling with their parents from places like Kilkenny, Galway, Waterford, Down, Armagh and Antrim to experience first-hand what Dundalk Institute has to offer.
Student Course Talks, Campus Tours and the exhibition centre once again proved to be a very popular highlight of the two days.
Dance and music performances, sports and societies activities as well as roaming pirates with their Treasure Island themed activities brought some fun and colour to the Open Day activities.
After the event DkIT School Liaison Officer stated that overall the two-day event gave interested students, their parents and teachers, the chance to explore the college’s facilities, meet current students and staff, and explore the college’s departments through a wide range of demonstrations. Each year the various departments in DkIT come up with novel ways of presenting their Courses for Open Day and this year was no exception. I would like to thank everyone who attended the Open Day, as well as the staff and volunteers for making the two day event such a great success.”
If you missed DkIT Open Day don’t worry as the college will be holding an information morning on Saturday 19 January 2013 from 10.00am until 1.00pm.
