GARDAI in Dundalk are appealing for information following an armed robbery at Newry Road Service Station.

A lone male entered the service station and threatened staff with a knife on Monday, June 10 at 7.05pm.

The thief, thought to be in his 30s, then went behind the counter and robbed a small amount of cash from the till.

He escaped in a a grey 3 series BMW with Southern registration plates. No-one was injured during the robbery.

According to a garda spokesperson, the man spoke with a local accent but headed North. The suspect is described as 5ft 8”.

He was wearing a white and red, long sleeved, checked shirt, blue baseball hat and dark glasses. He was described as having a heavy set build.
