Man in his 70s arrested in operation targeting dissident activity in Dundalk

Gardai have arrested two men and searched six locations in the Dundalk, Co. Louth today the 21st of February 2013.

In an operation carried out in the early hours of this morning Gardaí, targeting criminal and subversive activity in the Dundalk area, conducted searches at various properties in the Dundalk area.

As part of the operation two men, one in his 30s and one in his 70s, have been arrested. The men are detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 at Drogheda Garda station.

The operation is not directly related to the investigation into the murder of Detective Garda Adrian Donohoe.
