Santa Fun Run

Santa Fun Run

The run will commence at the Square at 11am on Friday, December 14.

Santas will be running/walking a small lap down and around Crowe St, Francis Street , Park st, The Demesne and returning to the Square in the morning. LMFM will do an outside broadcast at the Square and there will be carol singers from the CBS.

Afterwards there will be a Christmas Charity lunch in the Crown Plaza Hotel at 12 noon. All guests are asked to take a unwrapped toy to the event. There are a few places left if anyone is interested and the cost is 50 euro, with great entertainment lined up.

Sheelagh Christmas Fayre

The annual Christmas Fayre will take place in the Sheelagh clubrooms on December 14. There will be lots of Christmas food and gift for sale on the night and all are welcome to attend. Doors will open 7-10pm and Santa will also be making an appearance.

Blackrock Girl Guides Toy Appeal

The Blackrock Girl Guides have issued a Christmas toy appeal. There will be collection points at both Centra and Vivo stores in Blackrock and Greengates from December 1-16. There will also be a raffle at the Ladybirds, Brownies and Girl Guides Christmas Show on December 16 at the Blackrock Community Centre. They are asking for new toys for children of all ages and gifts for teenagers such as cinema tickets, gift vouchers and phone top-ups. All of which will be given to families in need, in the community and surrounding areas.

Craft on the Quay

The Christmas Craft Fair is on in the Imperial Hotel, Dundalk on December 15 from 12-5pm. It is free admission. Come and get some great locally handmade gifts and support your fellow Dundalkians. There will be everything from jewellery and teddies to jams, cards and calligraphy poems.

Annual Christmas Pudding Run

There will be a seasonal 9k run, jog or walk on Saturday, December 15. The pudding run will start in Carlingford and bring runners/walkers through Maeve’s Gap by Golyin Pass to Slate Rock and the Quarry then through Convent Lane to finish at Dan’s Stone Wall Café. There is a registration fee of 5 euro and all proceeds are in aid of St. Vincent de Paul.

Registration will be at the Stonewall Cafe from 9am and the race will start at the Village Centre at 10am to finish at Dan’s Stone Wall Café. Prizes will be Georgina’s delicious Christmas Puddings. For more information contact: Johnny on 087-8105919.

Christmas Holly Fair

Dulargy National School Parents Association will hold its annual Christmas Holly Fair in Anaverna House in Ravensdale on Saturday 15th December. The Music Generation Louth Junior Strings Orchestra will perform and there will be homemade gingerbread to decorate, a chance to make your own Christmas wreaths and decorations, face painting, raffle, bottle stand, gourmet BBQ and lots of Ravensdale holly for sale.

Everyone is very welcome and all proceeds will go to Dulargy National School.

Christmas Cake Sale

There will be a Christmas Cake Sale run by Haggardstown Parents Committee at Haggardstown Church on Sunday December 16. On sale on the day will be a lovely selection of cakes, buns and biscuits and any cake donation is appreciated. Please leave baked goods at the church from 10am.

Come along and enjoy complimentary mulled wine and mince pies with complimentary hot chocolate for the kids and a Christmas raffle with lots of great prizes.

Also taking place in the church on December 16 is the Senior Infants Nativity Play, the Second Class “Do this in Memory Mass” and Haggardstown Choral Verse.

Christmas Bonanza Day

Christmas Bonanza Day is on in Killanny Playground on December 16 at 2pm. The day will start with the grand entrance of Santa who can be visited from 2-6pm on the day with an entrance fee of 5e. There will also be an outdoor Christmas market in the church car park from 2-6pm. There will be tea/coffee and lots of other Christmas treats on the day.

Santa visits St. Patrick’s GFC

The much anticipated visit from Santa which has been organised by St. Patricks GFC. Santa will be at the clubrooms from 2-4pm on Sunday December 16 and all are welcome to come along and meet him.

This event is being organised free of charge by St. Patricks GFC to say thank you for all your support throughout the year. Donations from local businesses are welcome to help transport Santa and his goodies to the clubrooms.

Parish Carol Service

The service takes place next Sunday, December 16 at 7.30pm in St. Mary’s Church, Lordship. The adult and children’s choirs in the parish are invited to take part. All are welcome.
