Claddagh’s Treasures Creche on Tom Bellew Avenue, Dundalk had a Danone Big Toddle for Barnardos on Tuesday, May 15. Pictured are some of the children from Claddagh’s Treasures Creche who took part in the Big Toddle.

The Holy Family Parish Community Creche at 2 Grange Close, Muirhevnamor, Dundalk also held a Big Toddle on Thursday, May 17.

The fun sponsored walk for toddlers raised funds to support the vital work that Barnardos does with children and families in communities all over Ireland.

Over the past eight years this event has raised a total of e2.5 million and seen more than 140,000 toddlers participate. This funding has enabled Barnardos to continue its work with almost 6,000 children and families each year.

Last year Louth’s toddlers walked a whopping 1,075 miles. Barnardos is estimating that more than 25,000 miles will be toddled by children from almost every county in Ireland from May 1 to June 30.

Barnardos is celebrating its 50th year working for children in Ireland and hopes to make 2012 their biggest year yet. All proceeds raised from the Dundalk Big Toddle fundraisers will be donated to Barnardos.
